Rain Fun

Ellie wanted to go out with me to brush Charlie yesterday while it was raining. I said no at first but then she came out of the mudroom with her rain boots on (over her pajamas...so cute) and I realized that a little rain couldn't hurt her! Of course I brought the camera...

We went to one last Halloween party today and the girls loved being able to dress up with their friends again! This time, Ellie was Tinkerbell and Josie was a mermaid. (Cousin Sara was a beautiful Princess Mulan.) We have a whole closet full of Princess dresses so, even though Halloween is over, pretty much every day is still a dress up day here... The joy of girls :)

Kite Flying!

Yesterday was the perfect day for Ellie to finally get to fly a kite! It was 72 degrees and very, very windy. Knowing that it might just be our very last nice day of the year, I promised her that we would go out when Josie took her nap. She LOVED it!


She first wanted to try her homemade kite. It was so windy that it flew really well!


Then we got out the huge Strawberry Shortcake kite that she got way back at Easter.


She started in the driveway...


then to the sidewalk...


and when she got really good, we moved to across the street!

Josie (14 months)

I have not updated on any of Josie's milestones in awhile so I will do so now before I forget them.
Josie finally went from "army" crawling to regular crawling at 11 months. She took her first steps just before her first birthday and was walking all over the place a couple of weeks after her birthday. She now can run, climb, jump, and pretty much everything else you need to be able to do to get into everything! She talks very well and her favorite words are Ellie, Daddy, doggie (which means any animal), hiiiiii...(which she says to everyone, especially strangers), down (which also means up), thank you, and more? (which she says usually as she's trying to climb into the refrigerator). She will not say Mommy and every time I try to get her to, she says Ellie or Daddy and then laughs. She thinks she's pretty funny! She has such a firecracker personality (so different from Ellie) and will scream and throw herself on the floor in a tantrum for just about any reason. However, she can go from that to being so silly and sweet that it's hard to ever be upset with her. Her and Ellie are finally finding things they can play together and I love finding them engrossed together in a game of hide-n-seek, building Legos, or reading books.
Our family would definitely not be complete without Josie. She brings so much energy into this house, not to mention joy, love, and laughter. We love you Josie!

Halloween 2008

Ellie went trick-or-treating for the first time with her cousins Cinderella and Spiderman. She was Princess Belle since it was actually too warm for her to wear her unicorn costume! She had a great time! Her favorite thing to do this Halloween was to say (to everybody) "Guess what...BOO!!!" and then laugh hysterically.
It was a fun day!
